Mariam Makalatia

Violinist, Tbilisi State Conservatoire.

Portrait of Mariam Makalatia holding her violin

A child of a musical family always finds a way into music. I grew up in one, and the violin is where I stayed.

I have played since I was seven, and now study and perform at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire. My days move between practice rooms, rehearsals, and playing in the orchestra. That is the routine I want to keep for the rest of my life.

My playing lives across symphonic concerts and collaborations with other artists, and I am currently working on compositions of my own.

One day the world will hear my music not only as a player, but as a creator too.

If you would like to talk about a performance, a recording, or a collaboration, the door is open below.
